Dr. Ranjit Kumar Das has joined in the Central Library IIT Bombay as an Assistant Librarian on 16th June 2011. He is having an experience of twenty years in the Profession. Prior to joining IIT Bombay he has served as Librarian in Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar for nearly seven Years.  Few among his remarkable contributions to the field includes: He has served as a Founder Lecturer at P.G. Dept. of Lib. & Info. Sc. , North Orissa University,  formulation the Syllabus for the Bachelor and Master Degree Program in Library and Information Science provided by North Orissa University, Odisha,  he has developed and maintained a Digital Library known as KIMS Digital using GSDL at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, KIIT University , Odisha in the year  2007, organized national level conferences and workshops in the field of Library & Information Science. He was handling the charge of the In-Charge Central Library IIT Bombay w.e.f  08.10.2015 to 15.01.2018.

Dr. Das is well versed with Library software viz. LS Premia, Libsys 4.0, CDS/ISIS, GSDL,  etc. He is involved in teaching and research at various levels from the beginning. He is being invited as a vising faculty for the B.L.I.Sc. and  M.L.I.Sc. course of various  Universities. His  area of interest includes IT application into LIS Services, Information Retrieval System and Library Management.
