Reference Service is an important service offered by the library. It helps users to make full use of the resources available in the library. It provides guidance in the use of library resources and services, assists in accessing e-journals, e-books, databases, multimedia sources etc and conducts library orientation programmes for new users.
It also maintains a collection of reference books consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, technical data, almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, CD-ROMs, Audio and Video cassettes, etc. Reference books are marked βRβ and Rare Reference are marked βRRβ. The collection marked βRRβ are kept under lock and key.
The Reference Section also houses videos and DVDs. The viewing facility is available to the students, staff and faculty of the Institute from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all working days.
Reference books are issued to faculty/equivalent staff for three days and research scholar for one day.
